Published Chapter Yearbook Award Rules

(Covering June 1 through May 31)

The following guidelines will be used to evaluate the entries for the Published Chapter Yearbook Award.

Awards will be presented at the next National Block and Bridle convention. First through fifth place will be recognized with a plaque.

A. Contents (55%)

  1. Table of Contents
  2. Officers, Advisors
  3. Roster, Animal Science Seniors or Seniors in the Club
  4. Honorary Members
  5. Treasurer's Report
  6. Club Activities
  7. Local Outstanding Senior and Scholarship Winners
  8. Other Awards by Club
  9. Club-Sponsored Shows and Events
  10. Judging Contests sponsored by Club (generally college judging team are not considered club activities).
  11. Advertisements (number and mix if advertising is used)

B. Appearance (25%)

  1. Cover: eye-catching, attractive design; appropriate to school and club.
  2. Pictures: choices of pictures; appropriate to subject; variety.
  3. Text: easy to read; no glaring errors in printing, appropriate length for topic covered of picture described.
  4. Layout: attractive appearance; good use of space, good mix of pictures with text; variety.

C. Arrangement (20%)

Logical order; set up so activities are distinguishable.

Date Due

Three (3) copies of the Published Chapter Yearbook should by sent to the National Editor and be postmarked by June 15. For late entries, 3 points will be deducted for each day beyond the postmark deadline (100-point scale), and entries will not be considered if they are two or more weeks late. The judging will be done during the summer, and winners will be recognized and awards presented at the next national Block and Bridle Convention.
